Thank you for visiting my blog. I’m praying that I can add something of value to these blogs occasionally. I don’t feel as if I can bring something to the intellect as I’ve never been an intellectual. I have lived well into 50 years however and have seen a tiny bit of God’s world in this little life of mine.
I’m convinced that our world is ‘dumbing down’ and we have lost the desire and ability to stretch our minds. We sit for hours in front of a screen that shouts at us what we should buy and the medicine we should take. We scroll through devices that give us messages of how well off everyone else seems to be. We’ve turned off our brains and juiced up certain emotions leaving the intellect weakened and unable to tame strong, and often insensible emotions. We’ve become a weak and ailing society.
I believe stories can bring us back to health! Good stories reach out to an imagination, stretches it and exercises it into good health. Stories with fact, truth, and moral lessons give the upper hand back to our brain while also keeping our emotions intact and healthy. They remind us of the human possibilities. We get caught up in worlds far away or the impossible plays out in our minds and makes it become ‘closer to home’.
Exercise your brain today, choose a good story and jump into it!
