Stop Living! You Might Die!

My friend yelled up to my window,

So I finally peeked slowly about.

I had to plead my case,

when she asked me to come out.

“Are you not aware?

Don’t you have a care?

There’s a virus in the air,

giving me quite a scare!

Oh please, please run from there

and hole up in a dark, safe space!

I myself heard it from the newsman

and so I ran and ran,

And have been safely right here ever since!

Yes, I know I’m quite pale

And I look very ill,

while you are all tan from the sun.

It’s from your careless life of fun!

I’m quite protected here in my mask,

lecturing to you is now my task.

You’re running freely about

as if you are in doubt,

of the deadly virus in the air!

I have a trusted source,

its my governor of course!

He knows everything in world!

He declared that it’s deadly to play

(and so is church by the way!)

I know you want to live…

But just stop!

Cuz

you

might

die…”

I am a mother to five extremely cool adults and grandmother to fourteen terrific, talented, and tremendous young people! Beyond my own children and grandchildren, God has blessed my life richly with a terrific family; parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A terrific church-family and a wonderful job working as the Director of our local Habitat For Humanity affiliate. We all miss my late husband, Ray who patterned out a rich life for his children to follow.
