Hound of Heaven

The Hound of Heaven is not the easiest of reads as it was written over 100 years ago. The language is slightly different. There is also the fact that our society’s attention span is so much shorter and much more difficult to reign in. It’s worth the work though, you’ll be enriched even for trying to read it! It was a famous poem at the time so it shouldn’t be difficult to find it and give it a try!

“…I shook the pillaring hours,
and pulled my life upon me.
Grimed with smears,
I stand amidst the dust o’ the mounded years–
My mangled youth lies dead beneath the heap…..”

I am a mother to five extremely cool adults and grandmother to fourteen terrific, talented, and tremendous young people! Beyond my own children and grandchildren, God has blessed my life richly with a terrific family; parents, siblings, nieces, and nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. A terrific church-family and a wonderful job working as the Director of our local Habitat For Humanity affiliate. We all miss my late husband, Ray who patterned out a rich life for his children to follow.
