Beauty is a marvelous thing! It is easy for those of us with more of a ‘plain’ look to want to focus on inner beauty. It is however something to consider, that you never hear the words “He/She had such physical beauty.” at a funeral. Perhaps that is an indication of what the value of a person actually is.
God has created us to reflect His Image into the world, the image He is keen on reflecting is HIS heart, HIS love, HIS compassion. God put us here to care for HIS creation, the beauty that HE has made. Someone observed, “We never noticed the beauty because we were too busy trying to create it.” Let’s rest in God’s mission for us. Occasionally, when we look in the mirror whether you’re smitten or disappointed, let’s think about HIS image and let’s get get on with HIS business!
